ENTRIX, Inc.
Ridgefield, WA
The GIS shop of ENTRIX, Inc. in Vancouver, Washington celebrated GIS Day with the 2nd grade classes at Union Ridge Elementary School. Sarah Jenniges, Kyla Larson, and Kevin Gabel explained the importance of GIS and how it's used by professionals in many disciplines. They showed examples of a north arrow, scalebar, title, date, and logo. PowerPoint and Google Earth were used to zoom to the elementary school from outer space - Earth, North America, USA, Washington, Clark County, Ridgefield, Union Ridge Elementary School. They reviewed points, lines, polygons, and the legend. A PowerPoint crossword puzzle reviewed the main points. See photo.
