Matthew Eimers

Matthew Eimers is a Catastrophe Modeling Manager for QBE and is responsible for overseeing GIS for catastrophe development. For the past six years, he has been a strategic leader in collecting information about natural disasters and mapping out the risks or losses caused by hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires, and other natural catastrophic events.

Matt has approximately 15 years of experience with mapping and using his GIS skills. His previous experience includes working at a private environmental firm where he was responsible for mapping geography, geology, and meteorology events caused by natural disasters, as well as urban deployment, planning, and environmental impact to different industries.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and minor in Geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara with an emphasis in GIS and meteorology. He is also certified as a Geography Information System Professional (GISP). To promote GIS to the community and next generation, Matt has participated in GIS Day for the last four years, teaching kids from kindergarten through sixth grade about GIS and future careers in the field.
