Miriam Olivares

Miriam Olivares works as a GIS Coordinator with the Map & GIS Library at Texas A&M University, providing GIS consultations to faculty members, researchers, and students from all academic departments and units at the Texas A&M University System. Ms. Olivares provides instruction, facilitates scholarly work conducted with geospatial technology, and collaborates in an ongoing outreach campaign to increase use of GIS among the Texas A&M community. She is currently working on her doctoral degree in Urban and Regional Science, her research focuses on geospatial analyses to improve current legal practices in managing risk of registered sex offenders, and to contribute in promoting safer sustainable communities.
