GIS Day Cakes from 2001
Geomatics YukonYukon Territorial Government hosted GIS Day in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. The day was fantastic, and over 150 school kids attended presentations by GIS experts from our community. This was our GIS Day cake. David McInnes, Information Services Branch

of Governments' internal open house.
Angela Bourgeois of North Eastern Ontario Communications Network Inc. (NEOnet), at Timmins, Ontario, Canada, made this globe cake for their GIS Day event. She wrote: "Notice how South America melted a littlea student told me it was because it's hot down there; I think I better use a different icing next year."
Nancy L. Caroli, Superfund GIS Coordinator at Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality, says, "GIS staff at ADEQ made a last minute decision to change the globe cake we had planned into a baseball to match the baseball theme of ADEQ's GIS Day 2001. The Diamondback's win of the World Series was a Global Event!"
The Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), City of Palm Desert, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, and the University of California, Riverside culminated their GIS Day event with a cake-and-ice-cream social that featured a cake with the GIS Day logo.
Alaska Fisheries Science Center, in Seattle, Washington, celebrated GIS Day 2001 with another special GIS Day cake.
Beaufort County, South Carolina, celebrated their GIS Day Open House with a beautiful cake!
