Megan LethamFor GIS Day 7-year old Megan Letham was lucky to have "show and tell" coincide with the event. Megan introduced her second grade class in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, to the idea of GIS and explained that her Dad is a geographer and writes about GIS and GIS users via his Web site at GISuser.com. Megan then passed out GIS Day pencils and buttons to her class mates, and her class computer now sports a spanky new GIS Day mouse pad to remind them about GIS.

LandAmerica's November Celebration

The LandAmerica Tax and Flood GIS department in Covina, California, is passionate about GIS. "This unique group is composed of three GIS Analysts/Supervisors, one GIS Analyst, eleven GIS Technicians, one GIS Programmer, and one GIS manager. These people have a range of education, a range of work experience, and very diversified backgrounds. Yet, they work together so well that one might confuse them for a family. Each individual is key to the success of the group. Each person takes pride in their work and does their best. Together, as a team, they accomplish great things. I am privileged to participate with such a great group of people." -Jeff Michelsen, Vice President, GIS Manager, LandAmerica
