GIS Day 2005
at
Oregon State University
Corvallis, Oregon, USA

We invite you to read the article that appeared in the Corvallis Gazette-Times.

"If you want to get a sense of teaching and campus/community relations at their best, picture full professor Wright, coming out on stage in full pirate regalia. Then picture 400 6th graders screaming with glee to her PowerPoint of submarine adventures, another presentation on forestry, a quick exercise in geocaching, and an age-appropriate keynote complete with … kids racing around the theater acting as salmon trying to dodge dams and pollutants. I talked to a number of parents, teachers, and kids, all of whom were amazingly excited and thankful [at what] had been put forward on their behalf." --Submitted by Aaron Wolf, Oregon State Univ.
