GIS Day 2005
at
U.S. Forest Service
Newcastle Wyoming, USA

For GIS Day 2005 we hosted a map gallery. The public was invited to attend and to learn more about GIS technology and its implication in the area. Maps of the area were on display from the U.S. Forest Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, the Weston County Assessor's office, a local seventh-grade computer class, and a few others.

In addition to the map gallery, a short movie played utilizing GIS technology, 3-D examples of the area were displayed, there was a short demonstration and PowerPoint, and GPS units and various GIS and GPS books were also on display.

Pre-event coverage included an article in the local "News-Letter Journal," radio announcements, and a television announcement.

We also did one-hour presentations at two local elementary schools and one middle school, and had two internal meetings.
