GIS Day 2005
at
Akademia Rolnicza w Poznaniu
Poznan, Poland
We want to present to you a succes story of 3rd GIS Day prepared by Remote Sensing and GIS Team in Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography/Warsaw University of Technology/POLAND. It was organized with the cooperation of our students and GEOIDA Association.
Our GIS Day Story you will find also on TELESIP Web site (in Polish).
Our GIS Day 2005 na GIK was inaugurated by Prof. Stnis'aw Bia'ousz who rememberd thoughts of Zygmunt Szumski. He said that GIS is unending and that the knowledge about how the world is running is much more important than the knowledge about how the world looks. The future belongs to people thinking spatially.
Next to the GIS Day 2005 inauguration there were our Faculty Student presentations concerning their diplomas and the projects they participated.
Joanna Witek and Aleksandra Wychowańska presented their proposal of spatial database of route network, road signs, accident spots, and traffic lights arrangement in Wołomin city (Mazvia voivodeship). They showed some examples of network analysis too.
GIS Day cannot take place without the competition. We present the winners. 1st place, Bogus'aw Ciastek; 2nd place, Zbigniew Malinowski; 3rd place, Maria Markut; 4th place, Kacper Gajda.
We invite you to participate in our GIS Day 2006 – just in november!!!
We'd like to thank GEOIDA Association and all of our students for their help and involvement during GIS DAY na GIK 2005.
