Institute of Aerial Geodesy (AGI)

It was the eighth time that the Institute of Aerial Geodesy (AGI) in Lithuania celebrated GIS Day. [And they celebrated with a bang! See photo below.]
AGI is the national mapping center of Lithuania.
In the production line AGI use GIS technologies. Technology of cartographic database creation introduced by AGI is one of the most modern technologies in Europe and world. This technology collected few awards:
- In 1998 at Lithuania's GIS conference, AGI was awarded with special prize.
- In 1998 during ESRI European Users' conference, this technology was awarded as the best technical solution in Europe.
- In 1999 AGI jointly with hundred the most modern cartographic and geo-informatics organizations was selected from 100,000 candidates all over the world and awarded during ESRI International Users' Conference for "Special achievement in GIS."
- In 2003 AGI was awarded by ESRI for Contributions to Geographic Science.
This year we dedicated our GIS Day event to our employees. We had a big cake that was made for our group of 26 people.

Our "firecracker" of a cake!
