What it means to host a GIS Day event

When you host a GIS Day event, you organize a gathering where people come together to celebrate, learn about, and share the power of geographic information system (GIS) technology. These events make GIS more accessible and engaging for audiences who may not know much about it, while also giving GIS professionals, students, and organizations a platform to showcase how maps and spatial data solve real-world problems. Your event can be big or small, and may be open to either public or community members or be a private event only open to those in a particular organization.
